Dr Jowita Kramer: “Contamination and Purification of the Person according to Yogācāra Sources”

According to the Yogācāra tradition every moment of perception has a direct impact on the seeds contained in the "store mind" (ālayavijñāna) and leaves "imprints" (vāsanā) in the latter. This lecture provides an overview of the different aspects of everyday perception and of the process of mental contamination which results from it. The talk also explores how mental contaminations are eventually removed from an individual's mind on the path to liberation.
