We have just received word from our Fellow Dr. Sarah Shaw that there are a few places left on the course "Introduction to Buddhism" that she is running for the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education.
It starts on Monday so there isn't much time left to enrol but we thought we would pass on the details:
Introduction to Buddhism
World Religions: Buddhism
Oxford University Department for Continuing Education
Wed 3 Oct to Wed 21 Nov 2012
OUDCE, Ewert House, Ewert Place, Summertown, Oxford.
The word Buddha means 'awakened': his eightfold path teaches a way to awakening. So the eightfold path, the enactment of the middle way of practice, is both a route and a destination. This course offers an introduction to Buddhism in its historical background. In eight classes, we will explore each path factor and its implications in describing and suggesting a spiritual path.
