The OCBS is a newly-formed Recognised Independent Centre of Oxford University (RIC). It has already provided a two-year Temporary Lecturer in Buddhist Studies at the Oriental Studies Faculty, and has secured the endowment of Europe’s first permanent post in Buddhist Studies, which is to be advertised any day now, with a view to an appointment taking effect by October 2007. At this stage, it is not possible at short notice to specify which additional sources of funds will be available to match any Templeton contribution. That said, the OCBS can, with some confidence, state that any provisional commitment of funds for this project will almost certainly generate matching inputs from elsewhere. We already have excellent links with both Thailand and Singapore, upon which we are actively building. Further details are available on request. ORGANISATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Funding is required for: - The creation of four three-year Junior Research Fellowships — registered for MPhil/DPhil in Oxford.
