Venerable U Dhammajīva will briefly introduce the meaning of Vipassana and some key concepts of the Vipassana practice.  Whilst discussing how the insight meditation practice and its by-products (or benefits) have been integrated in advancing medical and scientific research, he will also discuss how the two paradigms shift in the ultimate aim of final liberation captured as the essence of the Buddha’s teachings.

Both a Buddhist scholar and a seasoned meditation practitioner, Venerable Dhammajīva is the author and translator of over forty publications, including Buddhist manuals and books of Burmese masters such as Maha-Si Sayadaw, Pa Auk Sayadaw and  Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa, which he has translated from Burmese to English and also to Sinhalese.
